How photo reveal works at an event

Between the first shot and the collective “wow!” there are clear rules. Here’s how Rollo implements them.

1. Capture phase (locked)

While the event is active, each guest only sees their own thumbnails. They can’t browse the group album. That prevents spoilers and encourages candid shots.

2. Reveal time

When creating the roll you pick date and time — birthday midnight, festival end, hotel arrival. A server job marks the event revealed; the app can send a push notification to those who opted in.

3. Album open

After reveal, all members access the full album. You can save favorites to your camera roll if the host allows it. The organizer controls download policy (host only, own photos, or full album).

4. After the event

The roll stays archived. Link email to recover access on a new device, or keep your anonymous session on the same phone.
